Fast forward now to December 1, 1862. The place: on the floor of the U. S. House of Representatives, during the 3rd session of the thirty-seventh Congress of the United States of America. The subject: providing for a temporary government for the territory of Arizona, in anticipation of separating this new Territory of Arizona from the Territory of New Mexico. Little Edward Eisele was now six years of age, living-happily with his family in Bavaria in Southwestern Germany.
