Brownies

1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter, melted
2 cups granulated sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
3 eggs
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan. In a medium bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt; set aside. In a large bowl, using a sturdy spoon or an electric mixer, combine the butter, sugar, and vanilla. Add the eggs and beat until well blended. Add the cocoa and beat until thoroughly combined. Gradually add the dry ingredients and mix well. Stir in 1 cup of the chocolate chips. Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Smooth the top with a spatula. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 of chocolate chips on top. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out almost clean. The brownies should still be slightly moist in the center, but should bounce back when touched. Cool completely on a cooling rack before cutting.
