Molasses Bread Pudding
 

Servings: Serves 4 to 6
cups day-old Aunt Hattie's Homestyle Buttermilk Bread, cut into cubes
1/2 cup raisins
2 eggs
cups milk
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup dark molasses
1 tablespoon butter
2 tablespoons sugar
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°.

  2. Combine bread cubes and raisins in a 1½-quart casserole dish.

  3. In a bowl, beat together eggs, milk and salt; blend in molasses.

  4. Pour milk mixture over bread cubes.

  5. Dot with butter. Sprinkle sugar and cinnamon over top.

  6. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes.
