Bright Morning Breakfast Casserole
 

Servings: Serves 6
6 slices Holsum Thin White Bread
1 pound sausage, browned and drained
8 eggs
2 cups milk
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 cup grated cheddar cheese, divided

 

  1. Trim crusts off bread slices and tear into small pieces.

  2. Line the bottom of a 9" x 13" baking dish with bread pieces.

  3. Top with browned and drained sausage.

  4. In a bowl, mix together eggs, milk, salt, dry mustard and ¾ cheese; pour evenly over sausage.

  5. Sprinkly remaining cheese on top.

  6. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

  7. Preheat oven to 350°.

  8. Bake casserole for 30 minutes or until heated through.

This recipe must be prepared the night before. To add a Mexican flair, use 1 cup sour cream instead of milk and add one 4-ounce can of chopped green chilies.
